Last and final call for all 9W 478 passengers travelling to Mumbai

Checking in.. Jet early morning flight.
In my Allen Solly trousers, laptop in hand.
Exasperated with the 10 minute delay in the flight’s arrival.
Catching up on email, in those 10 minutes.
Make that last call.
Sms him – on board.
Sms boss- running late.
Get into meeting.
Hug boss. (*Smile* I loved her. Still do)
endless cups of coffee. Black tea too.
Check into Taj.
Call my Bombay friends.
Meet some.
Order room service.
Catch a movie.
Sleep on a kings bed, Without being kicked out by your toddler. Without having to hear snores like a scooter without a silencer.
breakfast. Big one.
Hop into company car. Meet people.
More meetings.
Rush to airport.
Buy a bunch of kiddy books from Crossword at the airport terminal.
Get home. Give her a hug and the books. (he was away, as usual, remember?)
Appreciate your family more.

I could give anything to get back to this life again. Just to get my self esteem back. To feel important, to be taken more seriously. To feel like an individual, unfettered and independent.

I know I know I know...i totally get what you are saying. Sometimes you just want to feel needed and important. However, having said that, you aren't less important now. We mommy housewives just have important jobs that sometimes go unnoticed.

hmmm I understand the need to be busy. But am sure you are always needed. It is how we perceive ourselves. People who have such busy lives would love to trade places with you.

As for me I work part time so have best of both worlds...plus I always believed in living life and not living a job.So get your chin up and do not lament on what you don't have.

I bet it is a major change going from a life like that...but you are doing something worthwhile!! But I do know I myself go stir crazy when not working and I was almost depressed when I graduated and was looking for jobs (meaning unemployed) I think for some of us, fortunately or unfortunately, we let the work we do define us in a certain way...

this is a routine life set to mechanical precision.. too perfect.... too boring.. rather have your life and live it by the day, in the way savoring what ever each day throws at you.... hectic or relaxed crazy or sane, every day is a surprize... wow !!

as Robert Louis Stevenson would say:::

give to me the life i love
let the lave go by me
give the jolly heaven above
and the by way nigh me.....

have fun and thats most important..

You are doing something important, Appu..in a few years Meeshu will be able to tell that to you. Hugs and love,
Sarika
P.S: Take a walk...I read you post and did just that yesterday and it was so calming and peaceful :)
@primitive: we've gone thorugh this ealier on my blog. and i know you must be ratting your head thinking when sense will finally prevail :D. thanks gal. But yes, i wish what I did was appreciated more. you know..its such a given that we are doing a good job..

Lazy pineapple: the name of your blog takes me to Hawaii for some reason, where i see myself on a hammock with a Pinacolada in my hand. welcome here. :) part time? I've been looking for them too. This country is merciless with non PRs. I haven't gotten lucky yet. about lamenting...i'll never learn :D
@PB: you've got the gist of what i was trying to say here, best. Mind if i come down for counselling? :D I'll pay you more than the rest, i promise :D. the last line of your comment- that's what it is. But when I start looking at it in macro sense, bringing in philosphy and what the wise have to say about my situation, i change my outlook in a rather cunning way. I so need to figure out my warped head!!

@IK: I know. I know. I know. havign fun and enjoying..all that i so much more important. But I'd like to be taken more seriously. I'm still pretty immature that way. Wonder what it'll take for me to get wise?
@republicofchic: hello hello. :) How many times have you watched the film? I bet i'll beat you to it!! SO glad you liked it here! :) There, am feeling a tad important now :) Saw all your chic posts. Those pics- its you?

@sarika: i've been walking much like Gandhiji :)). No really I have. Seems to keep me off a lot of shit!! thanks for saying all that- if only i began to believe in it. I'm a rather stubborn fool that way. i will only when I want to see things in a certain perspective. But who knows, its friday, and my moods might drastically change :D

in that life kg anyone can replace you, but this life your role in your family and for your lil one you are ir-replaceable(if there is a word like that). I know its easy for me to preach but somehow to us all the grass always seems greener on the other side (me too).
