Jab we met
There are these 'don't-meet-often-yet-very close' type of friends, who, when you finally meet, end up in ALWAYS talking about the same thing-- the past. Vixie is a friend from that list. Met her after a year, despite living in the same city (whatta shame i say), and it was such a delight meeting her. She is still the petite 'tight ass' babe, only hotter, and much much more composed and sobered. Dunno if I like this sober version more, but meeting her instantly transported us back to those mad mad days. Off late I have dwelled too much in the past (a reader also almost complained about it), so will save the 'reminiscing' bit for the next 'nostalgic' attack.
What I do what to write about, however, is about this evening. How strange we felt being in our present skin, doing stuff we never thought we'd do, and meeting up this way...we spoke of the usual stuff: ole times, ex flames, current flames (!), husbands, kids, bosses, everything two girls (geeeee, the word 'girls' has such a teenage feeling, no?)talk about. In the course of our conversation the obvious question came up -- how is married life....(or something to that effect), and i said -- 'see when we dated we searched for husbands in our boyfriends - responsible, serious, committed...and now that we are married we (i) desperately seek the boyfriend in them'. I told that very matter-of factly, but come to think of it, its so true. Am sure men have similar notions...
Anyways, it was a pretty 'girlie' evening, and the food @ fresco's rocked. When i walked away from her car waving, i realised what a strong little devil she is. Soft like a marshmallow inside, and a gumplete mal coconut, outside. And I know, now that she has decided to move on, she will (what with changing messenger status messages and all..). And what a start that will be -- wish you all the fun, warmth and sunshine, girl. You rock. And thanks for choosing me over Opus and Taika.
