Cocoa Hearts

coffee hearts

Made this for you, mid-morning.

A gesture to say, a lot of things

besides, I love you.

It took 2 energizer batteries

for the milk frother,

some cocoa, dark roast coffee

and a particularly genial mood, to create this.

But . You.

You  took the mug from me.

Obliged,

you said thank you.

Slowly you sipped it all,

wiping the froth off the mug, and the cocoa too.

(But really, you didn’t notice? NO?)

Sure, I understand.

Times are tough,

numbers  and excel sheets make more sense to you,

and graphs seem prettier than cocoa hearts.

But, I’m sure you’ll understand this-

the kitchen needs a break,

and the books by my bedside need to be read.

So, this weekend,

eat those numbers, and romance the graphs too,

I’d rather you be on the couch,

honey, its time you got your due.

"Honey It's time you get your due" sure had a deep impact :)

Happy book reading. Spend some time pampering yourself for a change. Husbands are a worthless lot no?

I cant help but laugh... I feel the same way... Wish I could just say it as loudly as you!!!

I informed my hubby to take care of the kids schedule this Saturday... (tomorrow!).. coz I had some shopping and organising to do for my younger ones bday party... and coz I'm busy at work.. want to start early on this.. Even reminded him a few times...

Guess what... today (friday).. he is off to a friends party... and then has a game of golf tomorrow.. which is a tournament.. so isnt sure if he can take the kids..

And when he tells me... he just knows that I'll cancel my plans and take care of the kids...

So I'm not a happy bunny as well today... and he should be sleeping on the couch... (wishful thinking!)

complaints against those who bring home the bread are so routine. but life goes on and one needs to romance the graphs more to make sure that there is roast coffee powder at home :P :P

@writersblock: hey there!! i partly got my weekend :D

@stringofpearls: :)) thanks gal. but he was feeling pretty happy contrary to what i had thought - not at what he had done, but the fact that what he did inspired such emotions in me..enough to create poetry :D
