Experiencing what they call - 'Generation Gap'

"Welcome officially, to the other side of generation gap' - Maya.

When Maya told me those words, I froze.

Ok, lemme give you a background. We were talking about a reality show on a popular music channel (cannot state which one here- might just lose my job.... well, who knows....). I thought the show was just plain trash, and the participants abominable. I told her- I cannot imagine my daughter doing stuff those girls were doing on the show...that's when she said those words.

I, for one, always thought, am very modern and forward about things that even shock people of my generation. I never thought there would be a possibility of a 'generation gap' with my kid. And the more I ponder on her words, the more I realise the enormity of the said words. I would really not like Meeshu to dress or behave in a certain way- and yes, that will label me with tags - old fashioned, conservative, strict, boring....and who knows what? I know these are double standards....my mom never liked me in jeans, an I wouldn't like Meeshu in a micro mini, and am sure she'd want to wear it as much as I wanted to get into a pair of jeans....

And what about Boy friends? These girls on the show were so open about everything- their sexual appeal, their fantasies, the kind of boys they like, why they like...it was a painful and embarrassingly long list of things...I dread to imagine Meeshu expressing such personal opinions so explicitly in public (sample this- one of the participants saying in her introduction- 'whats my sex appeal? What sort of a question is that? From Top to toe, I am full of it' ). What do you say to that?

I guess u are talking about M Tv show...or if I am wrong may ve simial one on Channel V :)

I swear this is not about generationgap. Some thing never chnage..and should not chnage..like civilized behaviour...honesty..integrity etc.

Just barking about ones sexual apetitle/style/prefrence does not make anyone a 'mod'.
At best these girls are making call girl of themselves or showing the poor upbringing by their so called 'mod' parents.

I guess not a single boy of even their so called generation will like to make them their wife/life partnerr.....its different matter that if such girls would like to be used like dustbin why should the boys not use them.

They are making a mockery of themselvs and their parents.
